I think Amazon will continue to grow. Home shopping jumped because of the pandemic, but it was growing steadily even before that. However, the stock, at 66 times earnings, discounts a lot of future success.
The actual process for implementing a stock split varies from company to company. Generally, a company will propose a stock split and explain the intent and process to shareholders. In some cases, the company needs to seek approval from shareholders before moving forward with a split. With or without this step, a company's board of directors or other governing body will later vote on the proposal.
Will Apple buy Tesla Or will Google
If the proposal passes, the company will work with trading brokerages to decide two important dates: When existing shares will be split and the cutoff day to be a stockholder of record. Stockholders of record on a specific date are the only shareholders who will receive the new shares in the split -- this is usually a few days before the official split date.

Apple is now rumored to be working on a semi-autonomous self-driving vehicle that will be able to drive on its own on highways, but will require manual driving in emergency situations and when on city roads. Apple originally planned to have a vehicle with no steering wheel or pedals, but the design will now more closely resemble a traditional vehicle.
There is a high-powered Apple-designed chip in the Apple Car, and it is the most advanced component that Apple has developed to date, with 4x the power of four Mac chips. It's made from neural processors that can handle the incredible AI load needed for an autonomous vehicles. TSMC is expected to manufacture the chip, and that's the same company that makes chips for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple's car will also use a suite of LiDAR sensors, radar sensors, and cameras to improve the self-driving function.
Because Apple has no experience with car manufacturing, it will need partners to produce the vehicle, and Apple is said to be working on securing partnerships in the automobile industry. It is not yet known who Apple will work with, but it has held discussions with Hyundai and other companies.
We still have years to go before an Apple Car is ready to debut, and we'll likely hear much more about the project as Apple will need to seek deals with a whole new set of supply chain partners in order to manufacture a vehicle.
The Apple Car will have a more traditional vehicle design with a driver's seat, steering wheel, and pedals, as it will need to be operated in manual mode. It will be now be similar to a Tesla, with the Apple Car able to be placed into a limited self-driving mode on highways, but with manual driving required on city streets. The Apple Car will use LiDAR sensors, radar sensors, and cameras for the autonomous driving function that works on highways.
Customers will be able to do things like watch movies or multitask while on highways, with the car providing alerts when it is time to switch to manual controls for city streets or in poor weather. Self-driving is expected to be limited to North America at launch, expanding to additional countries in the future.
The initial design for the car featured four seats that face inward, allowing passengers to have face-to-face conversations with one another, plus it had a curved ceiling that resembles the roof of a Volkswagen Beetle, but with the project shifting toward a standard electric vehicle with some self-driving capabilities, it will now have a much more standard design.
Safety is a major focal point in the design of the Apple Car. Apple wants to create a safer vehicle than companies like Tesla or Waymo, and so engineers are building in redundancies and backup systems that will kick in to avoid driving system failures.
Apple is developing a new battery design that has the potential to "radically" reduce the cost of batteries and increase the vehicle's range. Apple is creating a "monocell" design that will bulk up the individual battery cells and free up space inside the battery pack by removing pouches and modules that hold battery materials. This will allow for more active material in a smaller package. The battery technology has been described as "next level" and similar to "the first time you saw the iPhone."
Apple reportedly considered Hyundai-Kia because the deal would give Apple access to an established automaker with the capability to produce vehicles in North America. Hyundai-Kia was also willing to give Apple control over both the Apple Car software and the hardware, with Apple planning for a full Apple-branded vehicle and not a Kia model that included Apple software.
Hyundai and its Kia affiliate confirmed in February 2021 that they are not in discussions with Apple to cooperate on the development of a self-driving electric vehicle, so it appears the discussions between Apple and the two car manufacturing companies may have been tabled for now. It's not clear if the talks will resume, but some Korean media sites do believe that the partnership could survive and Apple could opt to go with Kia.
Apple may also work with General Motors and European manufacturer PSA for subsequent models or in other markets. Apple's "deep collaboration" with manufacturing partners will shorten Apple car development time.
If the agreement with LG Magna e-Powertrain is reached, the two parties will then jointly establish the precise details for the production of the Apple car, and a prototype will apparently be teased in early 2024.
Apple is also working on a shuttle program designed to transport employees between Apple's office in Silicon Valley. Apple is partnering with Volkswagen and will be installing its self-driving software in Volkswagen T6 Transporter vans to serve as an employee shuttle.
In August 2018, rumors suggested Apple could potentially be exploring the idea of a full Apple-branded vehicle once again. Reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple is working on an Apple Car that will launch between 2023 and 2025, despite rumors suggesting that Apple has ceased its work on an autonomous vehicle and is instead focusing on software.
Apple in 2022 scaled back the Apple Car project, dropping plans for a full self-driving vehicle that requires no user interaction. Instead, the Apple Car will be able to use an autonomous mode on highways, but manual driving will be required in other areas. The Apple Car also will no longer have a radical design with no steering wheel and no pedals, instead adopting a more traditional vehicle design.
In May 2022, longtime Ford engineer Desi Ujkashevic joined the Apple Car team. Prior to departing Ford for Apple, Ujkashevic served as the Global Director of Ford's Automotive Safety Engineering Office. She had a hand in the development of the Ford Escape, Explorer, Fiesta and Focus, plus she worked on electric vehicles. Ujkashevic has a wealth of expertise that will benefit the Apple Car project, and she could be involved in helping Apple develop safeguards for electric vehicles.
In addition, Tesla may be hesitant to partner with a company that is secretly designing an EV to directly compete with Tesla. Apple enthusiasts would point out that the new version of CarPlay does not require taking up the entire screen (and could be integrated into a window, similar to the jerry-rigged Tesla CarPlay solutions floating around the internet). But, ultimately, it is unclear if Tesla will budge on CarPlay implementation.
Recently, Tesla advertised for a Legal Counsel position specializing in insurance for the European market, with the work based at the company's London headquarters. The individual will be tasked with building and leading the in-house legal function of the insurance company as it operates cross-border in Europe, navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape of insurance in Europe.
It's no secret that CEO Elon Musk has been optimistic with some of his previous timelines. Still, recent statements indicate that the launch of Tesla Insurance in Europe could happen as early as 2023. A successful Legal Counsel candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the company can navigate the unique challenges and opportunities of the European insurance market and deliver on its promise of rethinking the insurance customer experience.
We don't know if Tesla will eventually transition vehicles that include USS to its vision system, but that is unlikely to happen soon. Instead, Tesla may continue to use the data from ultrasonic sensors to continue to improve their vision system. If there are any plans to transition to vision only, Tesla will hopefully wait until the new detection is on-par or better than what ultrasonic sensors provide.
Alphabet (Nasdaq: GOOG, GOOGL) stock will split 20:1 after the close of trading on Friday, July 15. When trading opens on Monday, July 18, owners of the stock will have 20 times as many shares, each worth 5% of what a share was worth the day before.
New investors who buy the stock on July 18 will pay the market price at that time, which is likely to be somewhere around $112 per share. The company hopes this lower price will make the stock more attractive to new investors, which would increase demand and, ultimately, raise the price over time. 2ff7e9595c
